Rural Health Network Announces Leadership Transition

 

The Rural Health Network of SCNY is announcing an important transition in leadership as their Executive Director, Mark Bordeau, has accepted a new opportunity as President and CEO for the Food Bank of the Southern Tier. Rural Health Network expresses deep appreciation for the contributions of Mark Bordeau and remains committed to advancing the health and well-being of rural people and communities it serves. The Board of Directors has initiated a comprehensive and thoughtful transition process, which includes the establishment of a Transition Committee responsible for the recruitment and selection of a new Executive Director.

Monday marks the 54th annual observance of Earth Day! Rural Health Network is grateful to have dedicated and engaged board members. We will continue to spotlight our board members periodically. This week, meet Lynne Esquivel!Lynne has a Bachelors Degree in Social Science and a Masters in Public Administration in Health Policy from Binghamton University. Lynne retired from her position as a Project Manager, HEALing Communities Study at Broome County Mental Health (BCMHD) in 2021. Prior to working at BCMHD, she worked for General Electric/Lockheed Martin for 22 years. Her last position was as a Performance Manager for the CH60 Navy Helicopter Program.After having lived in Broome County for a few years in 1980’s, she moved to Tioga County to raise her 2 daughters who both graduated from Binghamton University. Lynne has been Town of Owego Planning Board Member for the last 10+ years, reflecting her interest in working to promote a healthy thriving community.Lynne said, “I am proud to sit on the Board for the Rural Health Network of South Central New York. I knew about the Network from my previous position with BCMHD; but, I had no idea the complete range of programming they offered to rural communities.
